Have you been told water is a danger to engineered timber floors?
Putting this in perspective, water can be the most damaging to all forms of floor coverings and timber is no exception. However within the world of engineered floor there are many options such as plywood, MDF and lamella systems (timber blocks in the core).
Within these various systems are secondary considerations such as the specie of timber used in the core of the product. Is it a soft wood or a hardwood for example?
Soft wood has a lower tolerance to water than hardwood – put simply your floor will start to warp faster with a soft wood core when exposed to water which is why wet mopping is frowned upon. Trojan Profloor is produced using a hardwood lamella core; this core adds amazing stability and resistance to warping due to the density of the core and its design.
An example of our confidence and faith in this core is that we are comfortable with wet mopping of our floor and what’s more, we insist on wet mopping for our range of oiled floors as a way of caring and maintaining the floor’s beautiful surface. Not a claim many can make!
The timber floor should be a feature and source of comfort in the home, not provide a level of stress because you simply want to clean the floor. Remove any concerns and insist on Profloor!
