Natural Timber
Our natural timber range of plantation shutters is manufactured from plantation forests that are managed for sustainability. The timber is a light weight timber and ideal for shutter manufacturing. Our natural timber can either be painted or stained and as the timber has a very even grain the finished product is of very high quality.
As with all natural timber products you can get some variation with colour and texture. Natural timber is susceptible to colour change in a small degree. If colour change does occur it will only be gradual and often adds to the character of the timber. As with all timbers the question of moisture resistance comes down to the finished applied to the surface.
We use a UV stabilized single pack lacquer as this allows the timber to still breath and to minimise any surface cracking associated with 2 pack polyurethane coatings.
